Where development is likely to impact the interests of the Internal Drainage Boards, we may make representations on planning proposals which are planned within the Drainage District.
The planning process is separate to the Land Drainage Consent legislation meaning that even where Planning Permission has been granted, Land Drainage Consent for works affecting watercourses may still be required.
The Lower Medway Board works in partnership with the Water Level Management Alliance to make representations on planning proposals and to determine applications for works affecting watercourses under the Land Drainage Act.
Where development increases the rate or volume of surface water entering the District, a Surface Water Development Charge may be applicable.
In the first instance, if you are unsure if you require consent or planning advice, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
